Meehandering the 312: Brunch

Welcome back to Meehandering the 312, Brunch Edition. This is definitely the most difficult post I’ve done in this series because there’s seriously so many places to get brunch in Chicago. Not to mention the tons of factors that go into what you’re in the mood for. Here’s a few of my favorites! You don’t want to break the bank: Parson’s Chicken and Fish You believe bloody marys should be meals: Rockit Bar and Grill You don’t mind waiting for…

Meehandering the 312: Joy District

Last week I attended the unveiling of Chef Matthew Wilde’s new spring/summer asian fusion menu at Joy District with my good friend (and incredible photographer) Kailey. Joy District is a great Chicago spot overall. Its multifaceted in that you can stop in for weekend brunch, go out late on a Friday, or grab dinner during the week with a friend.   This new menu is absolutely to die for. Kailey and I both have restrictive diets and we were at…

Meehandering the 312: Bars

We’re back with another of “Meehandering the 312” and this time it’s all about bars! These were pretty hard to compile because there’s so many options in the city. Meehandering the 312: Pamper

Welcome back to my mini blog series of “Meehandering in the 312.” This edition will be focused on the most important recommendations of all- where to get pampered. In a city as big as this, it’s hard to nail down those tough to find places that just know what you need. Hopefully, this makes your hunt a little easier. Disclaimer: Some recommendations are not my own and were suggestions of friends and coworkers.   Your eyebrows look like caterpillars: Arch…

Being Pescetarian Has Its Perks

One of my first concerns when I officially decided to stop eating meat was how it would affect eating out with my friends. While I’m fortunate enough to live in a big foodie city with tons of different options, when I go home to visit my family in Toledo (the city of chain restaurants) it’s not always as easy. I never wanted to be that person who dictated where to eat based on diet restrictions.   While a sandwich shop…

Muse Monday Vol. 3

With this weekend being St. Paddy’s celebrations in Chicago, I’m writing from my bed while sipping on some ginger ale and binge watching Friends. You win, St. Paddy’s, you always win.   Purchases: When I was in Toledo a few weekends ago, I stopped into Lady Foot Locker locked eyes with these nikes. To say it was love at first sight would be an understatement. I told myself I was going to wait until it was nicer out and they…
