I try not to go full blown hippie on here too often just for the sole purpose that not a ton of people connect with it. However, essential oils are slowly becoming something everyone is familiar with and it makes my heart happy. Whether you actually believe essential oils have the abilities they’re said to or not, you can’t deny that everyone appreciates a great smelling home. With diffusers being all the rage, it’s actually a pretty affordable habit to integrate into your life. I have a diffuser, usually put oils on my wrists before/during yoga, and just recently got a porous bead necklace as a birthday gift! I’m addicted. Here’s a few of my favorites.
Eucalyptus: My mom has always been the biggest lover of eucalyptus. When we were younger we always got her stress relief products (eucalyptus and spearmint) from Bath and Body Works. It helps to clear your mind, relax you, and clears your breathing. Because it has a very distinct and strong smell, not a lot of drops are needed so this bottle usually lasts me awhile. I use eucalyptus when I’m feeling stuffy or after I clean my house and want everything fresh.
Lavender: If I were to guess, lavender wins the popularity vote when it comes to essential oils. It’s such a soothing smell and rarely can be overdone. Lavender helps my anxiety and aids in helping me get to, and staying asleep. I put lavender on my sheets before bed and in my bubble baths!
Tea Tree: Tea Tree is one of the best healing essential oils. You can use it topically to treat a number of skin problems including acne and insect bites. It’s also great for cleaning around the house and helps deter insects in your home.
